WHO WE ARE
SBO is a multidimensional foundation, focused on creating avenues for growth, poverty alleviation and financial inclusion through female education and empowerment. We aim to close the gaps that hinder proper access to quality education for the girl child in Nigeria by providing financial aid , support and empowerment through an end-to-end approach of financing of education, Counselling and Advocating for policies that prioritize the healthy development of the girl child.
Our Motivation
Education is an engine of development and one of the most effective tools for decreasing poverty, boosting health, gender equality, peace, and stability. Hence, the importance of education can not be overemphasized. All children, no matter where they live, or the environmental circumstances, have the right to quality education.
The education deprivation in northern Nigeria is driven by various factors, including economic barriers and socio-cultural norms and practices that discourage attendance in formal education, especially for girls.
In northeast Nigeria, at least 496 classrooms have been destroyed and 1,392 classrooms have been damaged but repairable.
SBO advocates for education to be prioritised and targets children who are least likely to receive an education. The expected outcome of the intervention is that all children access and complete quality education, within a conducive learning environment, gaining the skills and knowledge for lifelong learning.
